The Cy Falls Lady Eagles won against Northbrook High for the second time this season last Friday with the scores of 25-9, 25-8, and 25-14.

This game was not as exciting as previous matches have been, but the Eagles still had their fun. In the first set, they began with a ten point lead, and sailed on from there. Setter Kayla Luna (12) had her first start that night and moved the ball around the front row with great finesse. Points in this set racked up from middle blocker Laila Collins (10) and right side hitter Morgan Adedunye (10) with near perfect tips and swings.

In the second, while they still had their easy fun, the energy made its way onto the court. Setter Jessalyn Reyes (12) was subbed in for the first time this season and immediately set Collins which lead to a huge swing into the middle of Northbrook’s court. The girls rode out the rest of the set with ease.

In the final set, a lead for the Eagles was established early on, but as the set continued, the girls began to make small mistakes. This lead to Northbrook earning past ten points for the first time that night, fortunately the girls quickly recuperated. Though there were not any key scorers in this set, the team equally contributed to winning it as one.

Friday night’s win turned their three game winning streak into four, the team’s first winning streak of the season.

The Lady Eagles play at Memorial High School at 5:30 p.m. on October 2.
