Fall or summer?

Avery Collins, Staff

If you live in Texas, you are no stranger to its scorching heat and suffocating humidity. Almost year round, Texans are subject to the lethal heat, leaving only a week or two of cold in the winter as an escape.

This past week, the weather dramatically plummeted into the 50’s for the first time this fall. In Texas’ true fall form, the sun has been hidden since last Sunday.

Out of four Falls students, all of them chose a winter wonderland over suffering through the summer. Apparently, pulling out fall fits trumps beating the heat in shorts.

Students also said the benefit of the cold includes very little to no humidity. This means not having to deal with any of the annoying mosquitos, or any other bugs the Texas heat can draw out in April through September.

The fall and winter seasons in Texas are short-lived most of the time. But, if you prefer the summer time, that’s music to your ears. Though, here in the Falls, the cool breeze is a relief.
