Final Farewells

On October 23, the varsity Lady Eagles played their last game of the season and won a hard fought match against Cy Ridge. This night, also doubling as senior night, celebrated the eight seniors that put everything they had into their time at Falls, on and off the court.

Seniors, Eryn Castaneda, Cheyenne King, Demi Lacy, Kayla Luna, Lexie Abbott, Taylor Porter, Maddy Price, and Jessalyn Reyes stepped on to the Cy Falls volleyball court for the last time and left an impressive legacy imprinted into the minds of those in the stands.

“It was our last game,” Reyes said. “We wanted to give our all.”

They did. Each girl played with a smile on her face, determined to pull off a win together once again. Their energy was unmatched, and though they went all the way to five sets, their fighting spirit never faltered.

“[I wanted] to put my heart out on the court for these girls I’ve gotten to call family,” King said.

The senior’s are hopeful in next year’s team. They are positive that everything they have taught the underclassmen will stick and that they are leaving the team in good hands.

“I hope next year these girls continue to push themselves,” King said. “To be the best players and teammates they can be for each other.”

The Cy Falls volleyball program is very grateful to the work these girls have put into it, and will remember them for many years to come.
