Growing Up
February 14, 2019
This generation of teenagers is getting closer and closer to becoming adults. Which is kind of scary, because that means they have to start leaving their childhood behind. But, it happens to everyone because that is just the cycle of life.
The definition of growing up means to grow toward or arrive at full stature or physical or mental maturity: to progress from childhood toward adulthood. As the responsibilities come flooding in; people begin to disconnect with their inner child.
This loss of connection also includes connections with former friends. As kids graduate high school or college, they lose a lot of their friends due to the loss of their current. Those who were there before, might not be there after. Growing up means that they’re entering a new part of their life. New people, new job, new home, and a new outlook on life.
Another part of becoming an adult is that they have to become more dependent on themselves, like paying the bills, doing taxes and focusing on their future career. Priorities also change, rather than focusing on having fun with friends, it’s more about taking care of themselves, and focusing on college or career opportunities. Growing up can be tough, but it is essential to becoming the adult they are going to be in the future.
