Soulmates

It is said that the history of a soulmate is that the greek god Zeus split the human body in two because he feared that they were too powerful. Originally, humans had four arms, four legs, and a head with two faces. So he tore them apart forcing them to spend the rest of their lives searching for their other halves.

There is also a comparison people use with soulmates, which is about life partners. The two are completely different yet get compared so often. A life partner is someone who has formed a long term connection with another and they are a big relationship that has many symbiotic arrangements that they have fallen into over time. Both soulmates and life partners have the connection aspect in common, but they are different kinds. While life partners have more of a commitment connection, soulmates have an intense connection. Life partnerships are usually the relationships people enter after they have met their soulmate.

The truth is that every person is different. If everyone in the world had an answer to what they thought a soulmate was, there would be 7 billion different answers. One of the strong beliefs is that a soulmate is a person who someone has been acquainted with in the past life, hence the connection and the knowing each other so well. Soulmates also aren’t always a lover, they can be a friend, or a family member because it doesn’t always refer to a romantic relationship. When it is a romantic relationship, it isn’t meant to last forever. Soulmates often come into our lives at times for certain reasons and then they have to let them go. Most people have the misconception that soulmates are the person that they stay with for their entire life, but the truth is that they have more than one soulmate and they come into our lives at specific times when they’re ready for them.

Like Dawson said in “Dawson’s Creek” a soulmate is “like a best friend but more, it’s the one person in the world that knows you better than anyone else. It’s someone who makes you a better person, actually they don’t make you a better person you do that yourself, because they inspire you. A soulmate is someone who you carry with you forever. It’s the one person who knew you, and accepted you, and believed in you before anyone else did or when no one else would. And no matter what happens you will always love them, nothing can ever change that.”
