Rodeo Houston

Rodeo Houston

Yee, and we can not stress this enough, haw. Funnel cake. Kettle-corn popcorn. Scream-inflicting carnival rides. Live concerts from some of the best artists out now. This year, the fun all began on February 25 and will end on March 17.

As February approaches it is almost impossible to walk around Houston without seeing or hearing something about the Houston Rodeo. It is an event that many Texans look forward to every year.

It is a time when the NRG Stadium in Houston shows live performances from artists like Cardi B, Tim McGraw, and Panic! at the Disco. NRG presents a livestock and rodeo show, showcasing animals like sheep, goats, and dairy cattle. They also provide a carnival area filled with great food, snacks, and rides that’ll keep you spinning.

“My favorite part about the rodeo is going to the carnival with my friends,” Joellyn Allen-Taylor (11) said. “It’s a great place to make memories.”

The Rodeo began in 1932 after a group of men decided they wanted to preserve the cattle industry. The Rodeo attendance numbers grew rapidly, as they moved the show to the Astrodome in 1966. Houstonians, and people from around Texas, continue to attend and support this annual wonder today.

The Rodeo is a moment when Houstonians can take pride in hosting such a joy-filled event. It is an event that will most likely carry on for many years to come.

The Houston Rodeo still has the following artists performing:
