The Cypress Falls Eagles took on the Northbrook Raiders at Pridgeon Stadium. The game, which was originally scheduled for Thursday night, was postponed to 10 a.m. this morning. The Eagles brought the pressure and took down the Raiders, winning the game by a score of 61-3, and extending their winning streak to four games.

The Eagles won the coin toss and chose to receive the opening kickoff. On the first drive of the game, the Eagles’ Quarterback Brandon Collins (12) completed a 51-yard pass to wide receiver Ricky Johnson (12) for a touchdown. The extra point was good from kicker Noah Smith (12).

When the Raiders took over after the touchdown, defensive back, Trey Silas (10), picked off the pass from the Raiders’ quarterback at midfield and eluded tacklers successfully for the pick six. Just two minutes and 18 seconds into the game, and the Eagles led 14-0.

When the Eagles took over on offense, JP Martin (11) got the handoff at their own 8-yard line and found a hole in the defense. Martin used the right side of the field to run the ball all 92 yards to the endzone for yet another touchdown. That big touchdown wrapped up the scoring in the first quarter with the Eagles on top 21-0.

The second quarter started with a Northbrook field goal to put the Raiders on the board 21-3. Shortly after the field goal, Eagles’ QB Brandon Collins connected with his receiver Trey Silas (10) for 36 yards and the touchdown, then on the next drive, Collins pass to Javion Davis (11) was caught for a 42-yard touchdown.

Ricky Johnson (12) made a spectacular one-handed catch and returned it to the Raiders’ 3 yard line. Then, on the very next play, JP Martin (11) ran the ball the final 3 yards across the goal line for his second touchdown of the game. A minute and a half later, Justin Bingham (11) picked up a loose ball at the 22 yard line, picked it up and returned it for the scoop and score.

With two seconds until the halftime break, Eagles quarterback Caleb Pollard completed a pass to Justin Bingham and adding to the huge lead that the Eagles put up. At halftime, the score was 54-3.

The second half started with another great defensive stop from the Eagles secondary and defensive line. When the Eagles started their first drive of the second half, running back Jaylan Walker (11) got the handoff at the 26 yard line and took it all the way to the house for six more points followed by the successful extra PAT from Noah Smith (12).

In the fourth quarter, not much was brewing from either team and the clock continued to run. The final score was 61-3 and the Eagles improved their season record to 4-0. Their next game will be played at Tully Stadium against the Memorial Mustangs on Friday, September 27 at 7 p.m.
