The Eagles faced the Spring Woods Tigers at Tully Stadium on Thursday night. It was a big game because a win would push them into the playoffs and allow the team to prepare for just that.

The Eagles knew the importance and came out aggressive. In the first quarter alone, the Eagles offense scored five touchdowns, four of which came from junior running back JP Martin. Quarterback, Brandon Collins (12) was the other person to score in the quarter with a 37-yard quarterback keeper. The score at the end of one was 35-0, Eagles led.

Just 16 seconds into the second quarter, Jaylan Walker (11) came into the game at running back and scored a 34-yard touchdown after running past the Tigers’ defense. He would score again on a returned punt for 49 yards. The Eagles put in yet another running back, this time Jaylon Vaughner (12), who scored his first touchdown on the season. Seven of the eight first-half touchdowns came from Eagles’ running backs and the score at halftime was a whopping 56-0.

The third quarter gave opportunities to even more players. With four minutes remaining in the third quarter, the Eagles put in another running back, this time Ja’Colby Rheams (12), who would also run the ball on a short running play and would also score his first touchdown of the season. Both teams would run off some clock and the score at the end of the third quarter was 63-0.

The Eagles would score one more touchdown to end the game, capping the score at 70-0. They clinched a playoff spot with that win, but the exact seed and opponent are unknown until the final game of the regular season. That game will be a matchup between the red hot Eagles and the Cy Ridge Rams on Saturday, November 9, at 1 p.m. at Pridgeon Stadium.
