The U.S. Surgeon General, Vice Admiral Jerome Adams, tells Americans that this week will be the hardest and saddest week so far,

 

“This is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment, our 9/11 moment, only it’s not going to be localized, it’s going to be happening all over the country and I want America to understand that,” Adams said. “I want Americans to understand that as hard as this week is going to be, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”

The U.S, marks a new record for the number of deaths related to the Covid-19 virus reported in one day. The U.S. reported more than 800 deaths Tuesday evening. 

 

Wisconsin sees an all time low in the number of voters for their primary, as voting was still held despite public health concerns.

 

The U.K.’s Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, was moved to intensive care after his symptoms from the Covid-19 virus proceeded to get worse.

The U.S. breaks the record they previously set the day before for the number of reported Covid-19 deaths.

 

U.S. stocks have an expected rise, leading business leaders and investors to remain optimistic for the future of the economy. 

 

The New York Times reports that Covid-19 in New York was most likely brought by travelers coming from Europe, not Asia.

The main U.S. model now predicted fewer deaths from the Covid-19 virus, estimating only 60,000 deaths by August. This is a 40,000 decrease from the previous prediction of 100,000 deaths. 

 

The Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, tells Americans that if mitigation strategies continue, they may be able to travel for their summer vacations.

New York state has more reported cases of Covid-19 than any other country in the world. As New York reaches its peak, researchers report that Texas and Florida may see an increase of cases until the end of the month. 

 

Fauci tells Americans that an antibiotic test, which has been proven to help combat the virus, will be readily available soon.

The number of cases worldwide topped 1.8 million on Sunday and the global death toll rose above 110,000, according to Johns Hopkins University. U.S. deaths passed 22,000. 

 

The FDA has issued an emergency use authorization for N95 masks as mass buying has made it almost impossible for hospital workers to buy a constant supply. 

 

Around the world, 2 billion Chrisitians celebrated Easter. Many streamed their church service from home in an effort to continue social distancing and quarantine.
