President Trump announces that all U.S. financing to the World Health Organization will stop while a review into its handling of the Covid-19 virus is conducted. 

In Pennsylvania, the Senate moves towards reopening businesses if they meet certain CDC guidelines; however, Pennsylvania’s Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine disagrees. 

“I understand the legislature’s concern about the economy and desire to stimulate the economy but now is not the time,” Levine said. “It’s the time for people to stay home.”

In Europe, French President Emmanuel Macron pushes for a world truce amid the Covid-19 virus. Both the U.S. and China have already agreed to the truce, and President Macron is optimistic that Russia will too. 

In the U.S., unemployment continues to skyrocket, as a reported 22 million Americans have filed for unemployment benefits.

The Small Business Administration has exhausted their $349 billion Paycheck Protection Program emergency loan fund, which allowed the government to help protect small businesses. Although not completely shut down, they will not be accepting new applicants until Congress approves additional funding.

President Trump reveals new guidelines meant to help states lower their restrictions on social distancing and help reopen the economy; however, it is up to the governors when and how to open their states economy.
