Teacher of the Week: Lisa Williams

Lisa Williams is a returning teacher at Cypress Falls High School. This is her first year back after teaching at Langham Creek High School. Williams teaches English III AP and L. As a little girl, Williams loved school and knew that she wanted to be a teacher. Williams attended Texas A&M with a full ride scholarship where she got her undergraduate degree. After graduating from Texas A&M, she enrolled at the University of Houston and got her Master of Arts in Creative Writing. She first started teaching in 1987 at Cypress Creek High School, and later on came to Cy Falls for the first time. She went on to teach at her daughter’s private school for a while and then moved overseas to the United Arab Emirates and taught at an all-girls school in Abu Dhabi. After a few years teaching there, Williams moved back to the U.S. and taught at Langham Creek before finally coming back to Falls. If there was one thing she could do, it would be to write a book that would inspire and encourage people to become educators. A great piece of advice Williams would give is to stick with your education, to not ever give up, and keep people that hold you accountable close.
