Freja Cini, Student Life and Opinion Section Editor
Freja Cini is a senior at Cypress Falls High School with three years of experience in the Cy Falls Press programs. She currently serves as the Student Life and Opinion section editor of the Wingspan Newspaper, the Editor-in-Chief of the Golden Eagle Yearbook, and the social media manager of all Cy Falls Press accounts. Freja moved to the United States in April of 2018 from her home country, Albania, in southeastern Europe. In her earlier career, she worked at the local radio station in Fier, Albania as a guest broadcaster through a program called Radio Club. Through Radio Club, she produced a series of podcasts, as well as an ad that was broadcasted through Radio Fieri. She attended the conference organized by the Texas Association of Journalism Educators (TAJE) last year and was awarded the highest title, Superior, for her entry in TAJE’s feature writing competition. She was also awarded third place during the High School Journalism Network annual ceremony for the “Best Spirit Photo” category. In her free time, Freja enjoys painting and photography, as well as tutoring and babysitting. Freja’s main goal for the 2020-2021 school year is succeeding academically and getting into her dream college, but she also hopes to improve the Newspaper and Yearbook programs, uplift the Cy Falls Press staff during this difficult year, and cover as many school events as possible.
